Elden Ring Tarnished Pack — How to Get Every New Item

FAQ

How much does the Tarnished Pack cost?
$4.99 / €4.99 on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. On Nintendo Switch 2 it is bundled inside the Tarnished Edition at no extra cost.
Do I need a new character for the Tarnished Pack?
No — existing saves collect almost everything through merchants and world pickups. Only the two new starting classes' outfits require a fresh character, or you can buy/find the same gear on an old save.
What is missable in the Tarnished Pack?
The Broken Gold Mask invasion reward (Golden Order Flail + Gold Tattoo Set) in Leyndell — it disappears once Leyndell becomes the Ashen Capital late in the story.
Does the Tarnished Pack require Shadow of the Erdtree?
No — the pack works standalone in the base game. Three of its weapons reproduce weapon classes introduced in the DLC, but they are placed directly in the Lands Between.

The Tarnished Pack dropped on August 28, 2026 alongside patch 1.17 — a $4.99 add-on with two new starting classes, eight new armaments, four armor sets, and three Torrent appearance skins. If you bought the Switch 2 Tarnished Edition, all of it is already inside.

How do I activate the pack?

Own it, install it, then fully restart the game — the new merchant stock and field pickups only appear on a fresh load with App Ver. 1.17 / Regulation 1.17 or later shown on the title screen. If an old save shows nothing new, that restart is the fix.

What is the collection route on an existing save?

Everything sits on the normal progression path — follow this order and the one missable lands before the capital changes:

Progress point Item Source Missable?
Roundtable Hold Reverse-Bladed Sword Twin Maiden Husks — 1,000 runes No
East Limgrave Hefty Scimitar Nomadic Merchant north of Fort Haight West — 2,400 runes No
Weeping Peninsula Steel Set (4 pieces) Isolated Merchant’s Shack — 4,500 runes total No
South Liurnia Idus Sword Corpse northwest of Liurnia Lake Shore Site of Grace No
North Liurnia Silver Grooved Set + Shield Nomadic Merchant north of Bellum Church No
Stormveil Castle Tree Sentinel Regalia (Torrent skin) Chest behind the throne room, after Godrick No
Ranni’s Rise Carian Silver Regalia Chest beside the ground-floor Site of Grace No
Radahn’s arena, Caelid Leontiel’s Greatsword + Set Defeat Leontiel riding north toward the War-Dead Catacombs No
Dragonbarrow Reed Great Katana Corpse atop the pale growth northwest of Greyoll, north of Fort Faroth No
Caelid Colosseum Ritual Thrusting Shield Corpse inside the colosseum, behind the Great-Jar No
Capital Outskirts Funereal Night Regalia Ground pickup by the southern sword at the war memorial No
Leyndell Golden Order Flail + Broken Gold Mask + Gold Tattoo Set Cast Law of Regression at the Radagon statue, then win the Broken Gold Mask invasion Yes — before Ashen Capital

What is missable — and how do I not lose it?

Exactly one pickup: the Leyndell invasion chain. Cast Law of Regression at the Radagon statue in Leyndell to reveal the truth, then defeat the invading Broken Gold Mask for the Golden Order Flail, the Broken Gold Mask, and the Gold Tattoo Set. Once the story turns Leyndell into the Ashen Capital, the invasion — and those three items — are gone for that playthrough. Do it before Maliketh.

Do the new classes’ outfits come to old saves?

Yes — that is the neat part of this pack. Heavy Knight’s Steel Set comes from the Weeping merchant, Idus Knight’s Silver Grooved Set and sword are Liurnia pickups. The classes themselves (stat breakdowns here) are only on the character-creation screen, but their full gear is collectible on any save.

Is the Tarnished Pack worth $4.99?

If you are mid-playthrough or starting a Switch 2 run: yes — it is a grab-bag of mostly-early-game gear plus three Torrent skins for the price of a coffee. The standout is the Idus Sword (a light greatsword with Impaling Thrust) and the class sets. Nothing here is power-creep — it is cosmetic-plus-early-kit, which keeps it honest.

For how the new origins stack up against the classic ten, see the starting class guide; for what patch 1.17 changed around all this, the beginner guide covers the current state of play.
