Does the Dreglord revive?
How do you deal with Dreglord's Scarlet Rot?
The Dreglord — Traitorous Straghess — is The Forsaken Hollows’ final Nightlord and the capstone of the DLC: a scarlet-rot-corrupted monstrosity that’s fast, hits like a truck, and arrives with no listed weakness at all. Unlock it by clearing the Balancers expedition once; the fight itself is a Day-3 finale built to punish squads that coasted the first two nights.
What is the Dreglord weak to — really?
The expedition card says no weakness — technically true, but the numbers tell a better story:
- Negative negations = bonus damage: Fire −20% and Holy −25% hit harder than baseline; Slash and Pierce (−10% each) chip extra too. Avoid Lightning — it’s the only damage type he actually resists (+10%).
- Status routes: Bleed, Frostbite, and Sleep share the same 252 first-proc threshold (rising 542 → 999 per proc) — a Frostbite + Fire hybrid (the classic combo) is the community’s fastest-melting line; Scholar’s rot/status kit is surprisingly strong here too.
- Immunities: Madness and Death Blight are off the table entirely.
How does the fight flow?
- Two bars, not one — HP scales with party size (11,554 / 23,108 / 34,662 solo/duo/trio), and emptying the first bar isn’t the end: he revives at full health for the final phase. Budget flasks and ultimates for roughly double the bar you see.
- Stats never change — later phases add moves, not numbers: he stays as durable, just more dangerous. Don’t burn everything expecting a weakness window; nothing like that exists.
- The sky-scream tax — below 55% and 20% HP he rears up and screams, multiplying Bleed/Frostbite resistance by ~2.15× and Sleep by ~3.96× until the fight ends. Front-load your status procs; a status-reliant squad hits a wall late.
- Adds everywhere — the arena floods with weak fodder enemies. That’s your resource: “defeat enemies restores HP” / “fills more Art gauge” passives convert the swarm into sustain. Save-and-spend your ultimates on the adds rather than the boss if your relics lean that way.
- Scarlet Rot pressure — his signature status. Preserving Boluses, rot-resist talismans, or a fire-cleanse consumable; don’t let the bar tick through a long phase.
What’s the squad plan?
- Fire + Holy on the damage dealers — one player building Holy (-25% bonus) is the efficient spike; Fire is nearly as good (-20%).
- One status rider — Frostbite procs at a 252 first-threshold and slows him, but push it early before the scream ramp; Scholar’s rot-kit stacks nicely.
- Cleanse covered — at least one Preserving Boluses carrier or a rot-cleanse passive.
For the unlock chain that opens this expedition, see the Forsaken Hollows guide; for the new Nightfarers that pair well here, Scholar & Undertaker unlock. For what the DLC adds beyond this fight, the Nightreign overview has the full picture.
